| § ¶Felicitaties voor Anna en Han Willem

Vanochtend vroeg hebben we met groep 7 van Westzaan "Happy Birthday" gezongen voor de jarige Anna en Han Willem.
Vanuit Schotland: van harte gefeliciteerd van ons allemaal.
Hier alvast een foto en het liedje zal pas tegen middernacht erop staan.

| § ¶De Rank have landed

The children from De Rank have arrived in Scotland.
Tomorrow they will be coming to Sandaig for some fun.
This evening some of the sandaig staff met the De Rank pupils and teachers for a tour of Glasgow. I went with Ingrid and Hans to a few internet cafes to try and do some blogging.

We had a bit of bother but you can now see some photos and a wee movie on their Basisschool De Rank Weblog
We should have some more photos on the Sandaig and De Ranks blogs tomorrow, (or the next day if we are too busy having fun).

Better Google Maps for europe are available. Assendelft and Westzaan.

De Rank school have a Weblog. There first entries include the Assendelft class singing Ye Canni Shove your Grannie Aff a Bus!

| § ¶Summer Project

Hello Children of De Rank.
We are on our spring holiday at the moment. In the summer term I am going to ask my class (they do not know yet) to carry out a homework project on one of 3 countries, The Netherlands, France or China.
I hope you can help with answers to some of our questions on The Netherlands.

| § ¶Podcast published

I have published the podcast on the Radio Sandaig page.
That pretty much wraps up the trip.
Miss Smith and I would like to thank the Teachers in De Rank for inviting us to their school, proving transport, food and friendship.
We would like to thank all the children we met for working so hard and giving us a warm welcome.
We will see you in May in Sandaig. Have a great holiday this week and we hope to hear from you when you get back to school.

| § ¶Video Conference

It was great to see everyone back home, you looked and sounded good.
I've put a picture of what we saw in Holland below, the quality was good. The Dutch children had a bit of difficulty with the Glasgow accent.

I think our podcast will be the first one by a Dutch school, certainly the first in Dutch and English, it should be published at the weekend. (more)

| § ¶Westzann podcasting

The Children in De Rank are podcasting in both Dutch and English. I am very impressed with their clear english, their accents are much better than mine.
We have recorded two groups this morning, one more to do this afternoon.

| § ¶Westzann in the Morning

Good morning Sandaig, I've started work already.
We are in the Westzann group 7 and 8 classroom.
Everything in new, beautiful and clean. The children here work very hard and they are very quiet!

| § ¶Westzann in the Evening

Just down the street from the hotel and the school.
Primary Seven at Sandaig should remember this, in the distance you can see the windmill that we went to last year.
Primary Six, we will video conference with you at 1.15 pm UK time tomorrow, maybe you could think of some suggestions that the De Rank pupils could podcast about?

| § ¶We Arrived

A bit late, but we got here at last. All the children have gone home, so we had a cup of coffee.

| § ¶Delayed

Mis Smith and I are sitting in the airport.
It has just been announced that our 10:00am flight has been delayed, they will tell us what is happening at 11:30am.
sigh!

| § ¶Getting Ready

I am packing for my trip to De Rank.
Really looking forward to going and meeting the folk at Assendelft and Westzaan and having some fun.
I am not sure I have enough cable yet though.
