17 March 08 - 10:19Burns cottage

On Tuesday the 11th of March both p7s went to the burns house. There was a man there who told us about Robert Burns. Once he was finished p7m went to the cottage and p7 s stayed and looked at the things in the museum. There were things like, guns, books, notes, statues and old chairs. After we looked around the people that brought money with them went into the gift shop. When I went in I got a rubber, a pencil, a sharpener, a bouncy ball and a magnet. Then we went in the Burns cottage and p7m went into the museum.

The first thing we did when we were in the cottage was watch a film about the cottage. Then we went into three other rooms. Some of the children took a camera with them so they took pictures of the things in the room. After that both p7s went to see a Tam o Shanter play. My friend and I thought that the play was a little bit scary. When that was over we all went in to a big room and had lunch.

Then we went to the Robert Burns monument. We went up the stairs in groups I took pictures when I went up. I loved the trip.

31 January 08 - 13:57Burns Assembly

Today was our burns assembly. We were supposed to do it last week but wecouldn't because we had to go out in the morning and there wasn’t enough time for us to it in the afternoon. In our assembly there were seven poems and four songs. The names of the song are Rantin Rovin Robin, A Red Red Rose, Scott’s, Wha Hae and Auld Lang Syne. The poems are To A mouse, A Mans A Man for A that and much more. The poem that I had to say was To A mouse. There were narrators. We had to say our assembly in front of the school. The assembly didn’t go on for long. There was a boy in my class that had to act out some of the parts in the assembly before the song red Red Rose he had to give some of the girls roses I didn’t get one.
One of our teachers played the key board for a few of the songs. At the end of the assembly we thanked the teacher for playing the keyboard and the children for listing. The teacher that played the keyboard got a box of chocolates. I thought that the assembly went really good because only one or two people forgot their words.

30 January 08 - 09:43To a mouse

To a mouse

Wee sleeket cowran tim’rous beastie,
O, what panic’s in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi’ bickering brattle!i wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee,
Wi’ murd’ring pattle!

I’m truly sorry mans dominion
Has broken natures social union,
An justifies that ill opinion,
Which makes thee startle,
At me thy poor earthborn companion,
An’ fellow mortal

Thy wee- bit housie, too, in ruin!
It’s silly wa’s the win’s are strewin!
An’ blek December’s winds ensuing,
Baith snell an’ keen

But mousie thou are no thy-lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men,
Gang aft agley
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain
For promise’d joy,

Still, thou art blest, compar’d wi’ me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But och! I backwards cast my e’e,
On prospect drear!
An’ forward , tho’ I canna see,
I guess an fear!

29 January 08 - 11:31Kenning Poem

Born racer

A born racer
A good pacer

A great jumper
A loud thumper

A fast runner
A brown stunner

A show stopper
A high hopper

A swing tail
A brow male

A catalogue to make me a horse

11 October 07 - 13:43World war II

Our topic in school is world war 2. If we had things in the house from world war 2 we were to bring them in if we were allowed to bring them in. Some people in the class brought things in. They brought things in like old coins, books one child in the class brought in a coble. We all got to look at the things that children brought in. I thought that the things that children brought in were really good. When the class was looking at the things some of them got passed around the class. It was mostly cions that got paased round. When we were holding the coins they were differernt sizes and some of them were heavy. When they were getting passed round i was thinking to myself that wouldn't be heavy. A boy in my class brought in his great grandads R.A.F book. We were not allowed to pass this round the class because it was old and pages were falling out.

04 September 07 - 14:36My report about Cheetahs

My Report is about cheetahs

Here is some information about the cheetah.
Cheetahs live in areas were there is a lot of prey. In Namibia cheetahs have been found in a variety of habitats, including grasslands. Ninety-five percent of the Namibian cheetah’s live on commercial farms.

A cheetah’s diet is small antelope, warthogs’, springhare and game birds.

The size of an adult cheetah is 105-152cm and the length of the tail is 51-87.

The height of a cheetahs shoulder is 62-86 cm and the weight 31-64kg. The male cheetah is slightly larger than the female cheetah.

15 June 07 - 14:57Going to Greece

On Sunday the 17 of June I will be going to Greece for 2 weeks. I will be going to Greece with my Gran and Grandad. Nearly every year I go to Greece with my Gran and Grandad. I think we go there nearly every year because it is a really nice country. After 2 days of being there my cousin Chloe will be coming over for a week. When they go home we will still have a few days to our self. Before we get on the plain we have to wait 3 hours in the airport. My brother and me will spend some money on the toy machine. My Gran told us not to spend a lot of money on the machine because most of the time we don’t win anything. Last year when we were in Greece I won a pink rabbit and I got to take it out to dinner with us it was really fun. Even though we go to Greece every time I love going there and I will never get tired of going to Greece. When I come back school will not be on because it will be the summer holidays. Yippeeeeeee.

I got this picture from pics4learning.
