Tartan originated in Ireland, and when Irish people moved over to Scotland they took it with them.
By 1730 the patterns had changed from simple stripes and patterns into what today would be called tartan, from the French word tartaine. In 1730, the modern-day kilt was made originally worn by an Englishman!
There is evidence that Celts have used striped and checked material for thousands of years. Tartan is made of different colours of material and it is then woven together. It is a pattern made up of criss cross design.
When people say Tartan most people think about Kilts,the national dress of Scotland.

Here are five things about myself that not many people know about me. But there is a trick, one of them are fake. Have a look and see what one you think is fake.
Something that not many people know about me is that my Great great granddad was Jamaican on my mum’s side of the family.
Another thing that not many people know about me is that my uncle john is a solider in Iraq.
Something else that nobody know s about me is that I am a lead singer in a band called Cute.
Something not many people know about me I that I have started pipe band practice and im learning to play the bagpipes.

If I could visit any country in the world it would be Paris.
Paris is the capital of France. It is situated on the River Seine, in the north of France
Paris has a population of 2,153,600.
Paris is famous for the Eiffel Tower and also for shopping.
In Paris the hottest months are June, July and August. The coldest months are January and February.
If I could visit Paris I would go up the Eiffel Tower and go shopping.
If I went to Paris I would explore the country and see what it would be like to live there.
