30 May 07 - 11:53Whiteinch craft workshop_caroline

On Tuesday I went on a trip with the school.
It was leading on with another trip that we were suppose to go on but it got cancelled because we had visitors coming to speak to us.The trip was about different religions.

First we got separated into groups.
One group was doing fancy writing like they do in Arabic, Latin the second group drew some pictures and the third group drew symbols for the front cover.
We were looking in the books for different symbols. I found lots of symbols but I only drew a couple of them. Then they are going to pick things of ourpage and put it all together to make a front cover. You had to make the writting all nice and fancy.

29 May 07 - 11:33netherlands

The Netherlands is a country in Europe. More than 16 million people live there. To the north and west of the Netherlands lies the North Sea. To the east is the country Germany and to the south is the country Belgium. The Netherlands were one of the countries that started the European Union. People who live in the Netherlands are called "Dutch".

"The Netherlands" means "the low lands". They are called that way because the land is very flat, and only rises a little bit above the sea level. One third of the land is below sea level. The Netherlands are also sometimes called Holland. Holland was a very rich area in the western part of the Netherlands. Some people who do not live in the western part of the Netherlands do not like it when people call the country Holland. Holland means "wooded land" because the Holland area used to be covered with forests.

Area Total: 41,526
(ranked #131)
Capital city: Amsterdam. But the Queen and the parliament are in The Hague.
Largest city: Amsterdam

18 May 07 - 13:36THE IGNORERS!

THE IGNORERS!

“Help me, let me in” screamed the Traveller
Punching down the door!!!

And the door lay creaking back and forth,
And the grass was swaying side by side.

And a gush of wind went through the broken windows,
And the cracked tiles fell from the soaking wet roof.

And the owl flew above the old wooden door,
And a wolf started howling near the moonlit shore.

The French enjoy high quality health care. The French government covers about 75% of the country’s total health care cost. About half the money goes to hospitals and a quarter to out-patient care. Private insurance companies pay only 3% of health care costs.
