14 September 07 - 14:52Bridge

Today p7s and p7m went to the Bridge with St. Stephen’s to learn all about Friendship. At first we played some games then after that we had our tuck. Then we had a choice of Quavers, squares and Frazzles. We all got slit up into two groups, one group was for drama and singing and the other was dancing.
I was in the dancing group it was really fun, but we didn’t do dancing we did loads of games to do with movement. We played this really good game which I liked the most called in the swamp on the banks. We played this other game when you had to get in to a group of any number that the lady calls and make an object. Everyone had to make a toaster, using our bodies in groups.

14 September 07 - 14:49The Bridge

Today we went to the bridge with St Stephens School again. This time we were doing drama and singing. I was in the drama group and so were half of St Stephens. For the drama we started with a couple of games and then we had to make groups and a shape to go along with it but it did not work out and we got put into groups and we just made shapes. When the ones who were up singing came down we played a game called “In the swamp and on the banks”.

14 September 07 - 14:39a morning at the brige

The bridge

Today all the primary 7s went to the bridge and st Stephens’s primary school was there to. We where there for a morning of writing a song and drama and dancing. We had to do that to met other friends for a college after the October week when we go to the college. Some of us where writing a song and some of us where doing drama. It was really fun for the drama we had to do something like an object and then freeze like a statue. I don’t know what writing a song was like because I was doing drama which was fun I hope the song writing was fun to. We also had a packet of crisps and water or orange juice for a little snack and we came back to school for lunch at 12.15pm. The bridge

14 September 07 - 14:38The Bridge

Today we went to the bridge with St Stephens’s primary. First we got split up into groups, one group went upstairs to write a song about friendship and the other stayed down stairs to do drama and dance. Down stair we did a warm up. We had to take deep breaths and let it out and make ah noises and see how long we could without stopping for a breath.

Then we had to get into partners and have a staring contest. Then we had a break.
After break we split back up and continued to do drama.

On Thursday we had art. We were told to do a technique called take the dog for a walk. We had to make different sections
by just moving the chalk in and out of a circle. We had to make sure the sections were big and not to small. We had to draw different patterns inside the shapes. Then we made a border out of black and white paper. You got a white strip of paper and cut strips of black paper and stuck it on top of the white strip. We coloured in the background of the outside of the picture.

04 September 07 - 14:49Spiders

When a spider spins its web, it will then wait on it and when prey comes near it become trapped. The spider can sense the impact and struggle of a prey animal by vibrations transmitted along the web lines. Other species of spiders do not use webs for capturing prey directly; instead pouncing from concealment e.g. trapdoor spiders or running them down in open chase e.g. wolf spiders. The net-casting spider balances the two methods of running and web-spinning in its feeding habits. This spider weaves a small net which it attaches to its front legs. It then lurks in wait for potential prey and, when such prey arrives, lunges forward to wrap its victim in the net, bite and paralyze it. Hence, this spider expends less energy catching prey than a primitive hunter such as the Wolf spider. It also avoids the energy cost of weaving a large orb-web. The diving bell spider does not use its web directly in prey capture, but has modified it into an underwater diving bell. Even species whose ancestors were building spiral orb webs have given rise to spiders that no longer make webs, for instance some Hawaiian spiny-legged spiders which have abandoned web construction entirely. Some spiders manage to use the 'signalling snare' technique of a web without spinning a web at all. Several types of water-dwelling spiders will rest their feet on the water's surface in much the same manner as an orb-web user. When an insect falls onto the water and is ensnared by surface tension, the spider can detect the vibrations and run out to capture the prey. I got the picture from wikipedia.

04 September 07 - 14:44Peregrine Falcon

Its breeding range includes the Arctic tundra, through Europe, and North America, and south into Africa, South America, the Pacific Islands and Australia. Essentially, this species can be found everywhere on Earth, except in the polar regions, on very high mountains, in deserts, and most tropical rainforests. The only major ice-free landmass from which it is entirely absent is New Zealand. Both the English and scientific names of this species mean "wandering falcon", and refer to the species' wide range.
The Peregrine Falcon Is the Fastest DIVING bird as the fastest flying bird is the Spine Tailed Swift. The Peregrine Falcon can reach up to 200 mph! That is faster than cars on the motorway.

The Peregrine Falcon first breeds at approximately two or three years of age. The pair mates for life and return to the same nesting spot annually. The courtship flight includes a mix of aerial acrobatics, precise spirals, and steep dives. The male passes prey it has caught to the female in mid-air. To make this possible, the female actually flies upside-down to receive the food from the male's talons. During the breeding season, the Peregrine Falcon is territorial; nesting pairs are usually more than 1 km apart, and often much farther, even in areas with large numbers of pairs. The distance between nests ensures sufficient food supply for pairs and their chicks. Within a breeding territory, a pair may have several nesting ledges; the number used by a pair can vary from one or two to seven in a 16-year period. The pair defends the chosen nest site against other Peregrines, and often against eagles or ravens.

04 September 07 - 14:44all about dolphins

My project is about dolphins. Dolphins are my favourite kind of animals. I’ve always wanted to swim with them but it is too much money. When I am older I might be a dolphin trainer and that way ill be able to swim with them. If I am not going to be a dolphin trainer. I’m going to save up to swim with them.

All about dolphins
i got this picture from pics 4 learning.
Pregnant dolphins are pregnant for over a year. When dolphins sleep they sleep with one eye opened and one eye closed, that way they know where they are not going to bump into the other dolphins and where they know where they are going and they sleep on the bottom of the ocean.

I read in a book that once a dolphin lived up to 25 years old and I don’t know if they can grow older, and on the internet I read that 2 dolphins die every year and I’m glad there are not a lot of dolphins that die every year.

04 September 07 - 14:39Horses

Horses are herbivores which mean they eat grass, hay and other plants. Their bodies are made for eating grass and hay so it is ok for their digestive system. They eat about 15- 25 pounds of food a day.

Horses can sleep standing up or lying down. They can also sleep in the day or in the night. They sometimes sleep at different times.

Horses love to have long runs out on fields. They also love to jump over things like logs that have been knocked down.

04 September 07 - 14:33Warhammer

Warhammer

Warhammer is a board game were you by plastic bits and glue them then paint it.
I collect two armies called necrons and spacemarines. Warning very expensive.
You each get a deployment zone the put your models out and you move with a measuring tape , And check the range of your gun and shoot but sum have none guns and just go into close combat and fight with swords. Every one can go into close combat but some get two or four shots in it. To collect a full army you need HQ, elites ,troops , fast attack and heavy support.
You elites are soldiers but got better guns or armour. But what you really want is you special character which is worth lot of points. You each have to have the same points. You can make or by terrain that you glue, paint like the other ones.

04 September 07 - 14:24About Avril lavigne

Avril Lavigne is devout to Christian family Lavigne's musical talent was first spotted at the age of two when her mother said Lavigne began singing along with her on church songs.

Just over one month after its release, Let Go reached Mulpi-platinum status in late-August, and was certified triple platinum two weeks before the end of 2002, just six months after its debut, it was certified four times by the RIAA. She grew up with a guitar in the house and learned it on her own at the age of 10 very young? This was the first song she played and she remember going over to her cousin's house with a little amp. Her dad taught her to play a G chord but she figured out the rest. she not the kind of person who would read music because you would have to, like, learn, but she used to sit in front of her mirror and think about what it would be like to sing in front of the world. Her mum got her singing in church, at the fair, at the banquet. She stopped when she was 14 because it wasn't cool. But then she started to write her own songs.

04 September 07 - 14:18White Tiger

White tigers are very rare in the jungle so you couldn’t find many. White Tigers are nearly extinct as there is not a lot of them left. A pure white tiger has no stripes and are completely white. In the wild white tigers live to about 10 to 15 years where in zoos they live as old as 20. White Tigers eat cattle, pigs baby elephants and sometimes even bears. Tigers keep their cubs for 2 to 3 years and by that time they can hunt and look after themselves.

White tigers are brilliant swimmers but they can’t climb as well. White Tigers hunt at night and relax in the day time. There are only about 5000 tigers left in the world. At the beginning of this century it is estimated that there were 100,000 wild tigers, today the number is less than 8,000. Simply put, tigers are disappearing in the wild. The main threats to tigers are poaching and habitat loss.
White Tiger males weigh up to 500 pounds and the females only weigh up to 250. A white tiger and many other tigers use there claws to scratch places to mark their territory. White tiger cubs are born blind and only weigh 1kg!
The head of a white tiger normally has a mark of a Wang or king.
