I drew a picture of Zeus the Greek God, Steven drew Chinese statue, Stephen drew Yin and Yang and Troy drew the Star of David. 30 May 07 - 11:56Whiteinch Trip

Yesterday primary 6s/j went on a trip to Whiteinch library. We were learning about
Rules from different religions. Some children got a sheet with different rules on it. The other children where making a front cover for a book.

I was writing a rule in fancy writing. The rule I wrote was Buddhism and it said, "Hurt not others in ways you yourself would find hurtful." Once you had wrote your rule you where to look in the book that your rule was.

You where to look in the book for symbols and pictures you could draw round the rule you wrote rule. If you drew all your work in black you were to colourfully colour it in.

First we got separated into groups.
One group was doing fancy writing like they do in Arabic, Latin the second group drew some pictures and the third group drew symbols for the front cover.
We were looking in the books for different symbols. I found lots of symbols but I only drew a couple of them. Then they are going to pick things of ourpage and put it all together to make a front cover. You had to make the writting all nice and fancy.

30 May 07 - 11:49Whitinch Library

Yesterday P6S/J were at Whitinch library. We were learning about Religious Rules. Everyone got into 3 groups. And we had to pick a rule and write it like people did thousands of years ago. All of the rules were all about loving everyone they were all the same but in different words. We made the 1st letter dog and fancy and had to make the others fancy too. The 1st letter had patters and maybe animals’ heads. We had books to help us. We looked in the books to find Religious symbols e.g. If you were doing an Islam Rule you would look in a Islam book and find a picture and draw it. After that we coloured our letters in. If we made a mistake we just made it into something else, so if you made a mistake you could make it into a star or a love heart. When we finished that the lady gave us a felt leaf and we had to write what was good about the trip or what you learned.

The Netherlands is a country in Europe. More than 16 million people live there. To the north and west of the Netherlands lies the North Sea. To the east is the country Germany and to the south is the country Belgium. The Netherlands were one of the countries that started the European Union. People who live in the Netherlands are called "Dutch".

"The Netherlands" means "the low lands". They are called that way because the land is very flat, and only rises a little bit above the sea level. One third of the land is below sea level. The Netherlands are also sometimes called Holland. Holland was a very rich area in the western part of the Netherlands. Some people who do not live in the western part of the Netherlands do not like it when people call the country Holland. Holland means "wooded land" because the Holland area used to be covered with forests.

Area Total: 41,526
(ranked #131)
Capital city: Amsterdam. But the Queen and the parliament are in The Hague.
Largest city: Amsterdam

22 May 07 - 11:51creepy poem

"Can you let me in said," the traveller shaking
on the gate outside
Then a rat ran right past the travellers feet
and the traveller got a fright.

He chapped on the door once again,
Then heard floorboards creaking for outside.
So he knew someone was in the house,
So he chapped it once again.

And said ‘let me in now’
Then he stood on a twig and then got a fright again.

So he looked through a cracked window,
And took a peep inside and what he saw,
Was nothing and none so he climbed back down again.

“I’ve got it,” cackled the traveller, opening the wooden gate.

And a group of gliding bats swooped out of the stony turret.

And a tile came crashing down tumbling to the ground.

And a light swayed freely in the howling wind.

And the sound of quiet footstep creped around the room

And dirty old gravestones shone where the moon glowed

“Tell them it took me years to get this so we must keep our promise” yelled the traveller.

And the wooden gate is moving from left to right.

And the rusty knocker is lying still on the brown wooden door.

And the wind is whistling through the trees loud and fast.

The Spooky Poem
“Can you let me in now?” begged the Traveller.
Shaking on the gate outside, nobody answered!
And a bat flu right past the Travellers arm.
And he stepped on the flowers with anger
And threw the gate open.
The Traveller heard the floorboards creaking in the house
And footsteps too.
He banged on the door once more and shouted is anyone there?
Nobody answered his call, He saw the light swishing to each side
Flashing on and off.
And a few minutes’ later tiles fell from the roof to the floor.
He looked puzzled thinking what should I do?
He shouted again “is anyone there?” still nobody answered his call
So he jumped up on his horse and went away.

Heading to the creepy woods.

“Hello is there anybody there?” there whispered the traveller again,
But nobody answered the traveller.

Not even a sound came from the creepy house,
So the traveller walked home.

15 May 07 - 14:41Germany

Germany is one of the biggest countries in Europe. It goes from the high mountains of the Alps in the south, to the North Sea and Baltic Sea in the north.
Between the mountains and the sea are large forests in the middle part of Germany, and very low and flat parts of northern Germany.
Germany also has parts of Europe's biggest and most important rivers, such as the Rhine, Danube and Elbe.

On Saturday I built My lego Darth Vader. It is quite big. I built it all in the one day. It is all made up of lots of small bits put together to make a section. First I built the legs. Then I built the chest and had to join the legs and the chest together. Then I built head and put on the helmet and joined it to the body. Next I built the arms and Light Saber then put the light saber in Darth Vaders hand. Finally I put on Darth Vaders cape.
