31 January 08 - 13:46Robert Burns

Today was primary sevens Burns assembly. All the primary sevens did four songs, Auld Lang syne, Scots Wha Hae, Red Red rose and Ratin’n’ rovin robin. The primary sevens were spit up into seven groups to do a poem. The poems were To a mountain daisy, To a Mouse, Address to the Unco Guid, A mans a man for A’ that, Address to Toothache, The deils Awa Wi The Exciseman and we did Tam O’shanter all together.
A boy in our class played Robert Burns. He gave out some roses to some girls in our class when we were singing a Red Red Rose. One of our teachers’s played the key board. There were two microphones and the groups would be split in two, and some were at one microphone and the others would go to the next microphones. At the end the whole school would held hands to Auld Lang Syne

30 January 08 - 09:43A Man's a Man for a' that

Is there for honest poverty
That hings his head an a’ that?
The coward slave, we pass him by-
We dare be poor for a’ that
For a’ that an a’ that
Our toils obscure, an a’ that
The rank is but the guinea’s stamp,
The mans a gowd for a’ that

A pince can mak a belted knight
A marquis, duke, an a’ that
But an honest man’s aboon his might-
Guid faith he mauna fa’ that
For a’ that an a’ that
Their dignities, an a’ that
The pith o sense an pride o worth
Are higher rank than a’ that

Then let us pray that come it may
(As come it will for a’ that)
That Sense and Worth o’er a’ the earth
Shall bear the gree an a’ that
For a’ that an a’ that
Its coming yet for a’ that
That man to man the, the world o’er
Shall brithers be for a’ that

11 October 07 - 13:41Tetrahedron

P7s built a Tetahedron with wooden dowlings. At first you built little Tetrahedron and got in to a group and joined all of our small Tetrahedrons together with elastic bands to make a bigger one. Then everyone joined all the big Tetrahedrons together. We had to lift our big Tetrahedron to the center of the gym hall and made a giant Tetrahedron. When it was finished everone got to walk through it.

14 September 07 - 14:52Bridge

Today p7s and p7m went to the Bridge with St. Stephen’s to learn all about Friendship. At first we played some games then after that we had our tuck. Then we had a choice of Quavers, squares and Frazzles. We all got slit up into two groups, one group was for drama and singing and the other was dancing.
I was in the dancing group it was really fun, but we didn’t do dancing we did loads of games to do with movement. We played this really good game which I liked the most called in the swamp on the banks. We played this other game when you had to get in to a group of any number that the lady calls and make an object. Everyone had to make a toaster, using our bodies in groups.

22 June 07 - 14:45Haiku poem

Children everywhere
Water pistols bursting out
Jumping in the air

It’s a Monday night
Children in bed sleep tight
10pm still bright and light

By Amber
Lying on the sandy beach
Running across a field
Bee’s buzzing in the way
