10 April 08 - 13:39My Rabbits

Two weeks ago my dad came in saying that we are getting ANOTHER rabbit. But not only will i be getting a rabbit, the rabbit it only a little 3 week old bunny! I am getting it because my nextdoor neighbours friend had 2 rabbits but what they didn't know was that they were a buck and a doe ( Male and Female rabbits )and now they have got 7 babys! So they came to ask my dad if we could look after one.
Also my dad built a new hutch with 2 floors. The rabbits will be seperated though just incase they fight. The hutch is looking great and my other rabbit Thumper staying in it just now. I will be getting my baby rabbit soon as it needs to stay with its mother for about 3 or 4 weeks.
I am very excited about getting my new rabbit and hope that Thumper will be excited about the new arrival comming soon. I might get some photos and keep an update on how both of them are doing.
I got this picture from pics4learning.

17 March 08 - 10:20Robert Burns

On Tuesday the 11th of March the both Primary 7 classes went to Robert Burns cottage. First we went into a room and a man there told us about the life of Robert Burns.

Then half of the class went to the museum. In the museum there were chairs, old pens and old guns. And the other half went into the cottage.

In the cottage we watched a little video which told us about all of the rooms. We went into the barn and saw some animals, we went into the main room which had statues of Robert Burns family all talking, then we went into the kitchen and we got to see the little small bed where Robert was born.

Then we went into a theatre where we saw a play about Tam O Shanter is was quite scary when it showed you the warlocks and witches and ghosts. It was about a man called Tam who stayed in a pub and on his way home he passed a church and when he looked in the window he saw witches and warlocks all dancing. But then someone saw Tam and they all started chasing him and his horse Meg. But one of the witches caught Tam and pulled of Meg’s tail. But he made it safely home.

Then we went to the Robert Burns monument and went to the top. Then we went to see the church were Tam saw the witches. Then we even got to cross the bridge where Meg got her tail pulled off.

The trip was very fun and I would like to go again.

17 March 08 - 10:19Burns cottage

On Tuesday the 11th of March both p7s went to the burns house. There was a man there who told us about Robert Burns. Once he was finished p7m went to the cottage and p7 s stayed and looked at the things in the museum. There were things like, guns, books, notes, statues and old chairs. After we looked around the people that brought money with them went into the gift shop. When I went in I got a rubber, a pencil, a sharpener, a bouncy ball and a magnet. Then we went in the Burns cottage and p7m went into the museum.

The first thing we did when we were in the cottage was watch a film about the cottage. Then we went into three other rooms. Some of the children took a camera with them so they took pictures of the things in the room. After that both p7s went to see a Tam o Shanter play. My friend and I thought that the play was a little bit scary. When that was over we all went in to a big room and had lunch.

Then we went to the Robert Burns monument. We went up the stairs in groups I took pictures when I went up. I loved the trip.

17 March 08 - 10:14Burns Cottage

On Tuesday 11 March we went to Burns cottage. We went to the museum and saw a model of where Burns lived. There was statues of Burns every where. We got to see the poems he wrote himself. We saw models of tam o shanter.

Then we went to Robert Burns’s cottage and had a look around the rooms. We saw the bed and a barn. We saw the big garden it looked lovely.

After that we went to the Tam O Shanter play. The part I found scary was when the witches chased Tam and the faces kept popping out.

31 January 08 - 14:05Burns Assembly

Today we were doing our Burns assembly six days late. I was a narrator with Josh, Charlene, Nicole, Karen, Chelsea, Conner, and Scott. We sang four songs and did seven poems (altogether). The first song was Rantin n’ Roven Robin which is about his birthday. The second song was A Red, Red Rose which is a love poem. The third one (which is my favourite one) Scots Wha Hae which is his impression of what Robert the Bruce might have said before his Scottish army defeated the English army. And the last song was Auld Lang Syne. The first poem was To a Mountain Daisy which is what happened when Rabbie ran over a daisy with a plough. The second poem was To a Mouse which is when he ran over its nest. We finished our assembly by singing Auld Lang Syne.

Both classes did a poem called tam o shanter. We got all the words right it was really fun. There where some narrators too. They all had to say a bit about rabby burns themselves. At first our head teacher told the boys and girls to be quiet so we could begin. It was really really good.

31 January 08 - 13:57Burns Assembly

Today was our burns assembly. We were supposed to do it last week but wecouldn't because we had to go out in the morning and there wasn’t enough time for us to it in the afternoon. In our assembly there were seven poems and four songs. The names of the song are Rantin Rovin Robin, A Red Red Rose, Scott’s, Wha Hae and Auld Lang Syne. The poems are To A mouse, A Mans A Man for A that and much more. The poem that I had to say was To A mouse. There were narrators. We had to say our assembly in front of the school. The assembly didn’t go on for long. There was a boy in my class that had to act out some of the parts in the assembly before the song red Red Rose he had to give some of the girls roses I didn’t get one.
One of our teachers played the key board for a few of the songs. At the end of the assembly we thanked the teacher for playing the keyboard and the children for listing. The teacher that played the keyboard got a box of chocolates. I thought that the assembly went really good because only one or two people forgot their words.

31 January 08 - 13:56Late Burns Assembly

Today it was our Burns assembly. We were supposed to do it last week but we were really busy. Our assembly started with a poem called To a Mountain Daisy. Then we had done a speech. We also sang Scots Wha Hae, a Red, red Rose, and Auld Lang Syne. The poems were To a Mouse, Address to The Unco Guid, Address To Toothache, The deils awa wi the Exciseman and Tam O Shanter. My group did a mans a man for a that, then we made a mistake on the very last verse. But nobody noticed. We also had a boy in our class being Robert Burns and he had to act things out like giving out roses and crush a daisy. When we finished our assembly we gave the teacher that played the Piano a box of chocolate.

31 January 08 - 13:46Burns assembly

Today it was our Burns assembly, we sang and said poems. The first song we sang was called Rantin Rovin Robin which was about was about Robert Burns’s birthday, and then we said some poems like :The deils awa with the Exciseman, To a mouse and A mans a man for a that. Then both classes said Tam o’ shanter together. Then we sang more songs, we ended with Auld lang syne.

I liked doing the assembly because it was fun and interesting. My best poem was Tam o’ shanter because it was the easiest to learn, but some of the words we pronounced wrong the first time we practiced it. The best song was Scots Wha hae. I thought it was a bit funny when a boy in my class played some parts as Robert Burns. I learned more about Robert Burns because the narrators had to say some things about him.

We didn’t do our Burns assembly on Burns day because we had too much going on, and because we didn’t have enough time to go through all the classes poems.
