<summary type="text">It is hard to believe that we are now quickly approaching the October week holiday. It has been a quick term. P1 are now settled into school and are coping well with being in school all day. As most of you will know school stops next Friday (12 October) for the October holiday.

We have had our first meeting of the Parent Council. Our constitution and Mission Statement is now drawn up. Copies of the constitution can be obtained by contacting school and the Mission Statement is displayed on the notice board at the front of the school. The next meeting of the Parent Council is on 24 October. Please try to come along. Each month look out for Parent Voice - a reminder of the date and an opportinity to raise issues you wish to be discussed at the Parent Council.

I would like to encourage parents to view entries on our school website and weblog. The weblog is updated daily with the children posting entries of what they have been doing in school. Please leave comments for the children. Comments are often left from people from all over the world but it would be very motivating for the children to receive comments from parents and friends.

I'll be sending home a newsletter this week so look out for it in schoolbags.
Have a nice holiday.
Regards

We have a week of activities this week. Keep logged on to find out what's happening as the children post their entries onto the blogg.

		<summary type="text">Hello everyone
It is hard to believe that we are now in the second half of the school session. As you all know this session has been different for all of us. I am proud to say how well the session has gone and how well the chilkdren are working together. It has been a fun and exciting session. We have done many activities in our classes and as a whole school. If you look at the 'Sandaig Otters' blog you will get a feel of the many different things that are happening in our school. We have even more planned for this term.
Book Week is coming up with, among other things, a visit from an author. This year we are having an Art Exhibition on 8 March. I hope lots of parents will be able to come in to see the children's work. 8 March is also parents' night so hopefully lots of parents will see the framed pictures which the children have done. There is also an opportunity to purchase your child's painting. This is an new activity and hopefully it will be something that everyone enjoys taking part in and seeing. Look out for the publicity material which P6 will be preparing
This term we will also be holding a school sponsor. The event will be based around our school values which the children agrreed on during our Snakes and Ladders project. Children will be sponsored t'o climb the ladder' as they demonstate positive values. More information will be sent home over the next few weeks.

<summary type="text">Term 2 has got off to a great start. There has been some great entries in the Sandaig otters blog talking about some of the things we have been doing already this term.
During the holiday our media room was completed and on the first day after the holiday Mr Johnston had classes in using it. It is fitted out with 24 internet accessible computers as well as a smart board. A timetable has been drawn up to let everyone spend some time working in the media room and help develop skills.
We will be working on the final part of our Snakes and Ladders activity this term. It has been a great success. As well as working on developing our school values the children have had lots of opportunities to work with children from other classes and get to know each other. Please checkout the Snakes and Ladders blog for more information.
With Christmas and Halowe'en this term there will be lots of actvities to keep us busy!
