When we heard the news of the green flag we could hear cheering and YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
All over the school even though it is the last week and Mrs Stewart and Mrs Kennedy are (hankies ready) leaving we will remember them forever in sandaig primary.
As you may have guessed we��.GOT THE GREEN FLAG YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about that just got a little OVEREXCITED!!!!!!!
Cos we got the green flag as you may have guessed.

Eco Day

For the last few weeks we have been trying relay hard to get our eco flag.
Out in the garden we have been litter picking. We wrote lunes on the garden slabs.
Me and my partner did our lunes on a really big slab.
I wrote mine in different colours and after that I decorated some slabs.
Mr Johnston took lots of pictures of us.
The day after we wrote our lunes we got the eco flag!

How does our Garden Go

How does our Garden go is a new picture gallery at Sandaig. Each day one primary six goes to the Sandaig Garden and takes a few photos. They choose one to post to the How does our Garden go gallery.
Hopefully this will let visitors to our site see how the garden changes through the season and it will also let the children experiment with photography.

You can leave comments on the photo and let the children know what you think.

P6s/j has just started the eco ninjas and every day another random person is picked for a mission involving stealth, quietness and real brilliant amazing ninjaness! The best ninja is ��. We have no clue its only been two days.
Every day a ninja will use his or hers ninjaness to walk into a class room wasting energy and STRIKE! Or you can say they just stick a star on the button to turn the thing off.
We made posters to warn the school of the NINJAS!

assembly: green flag

On Friday me and Natasha took some pictures of a discussion about an assembly we would have on Friday 2nd May to tell the school what had happened to the school garden and we needed to think of scripts and slogans for it.
Here is an example of one of the slogans: be a good sport and throw out and recycle that rubbish fort.
It was fun and it was interesting to listen to other ideas.

The Garden

Hi this is Chelsea and I am going to tell you about the work being done on the Garden. The garden looked a mess before, as you can see below.

However the kind people from Glasgow City Council Land Services Helped Clean it up and this is what itlooks like now!

But it wasn't only the workmen that did the work. The Primary 1's helped plant seeds in the pots and they have already started growing!

The workmen worked very hard through all the bad weather and we would like to give a big Sandaig THANK YOU! To them.

The Eco school committee this week

Me someone from p6t and 3 other people went into the Sandaig garden to take photos and do some litter picking.
I and the other 4 people were so surprised at how much litter there was and how a half hours work could make so much change.

We hope we can get the garden better.

This is the Eco commitee I am the one wearing glasses.We were talking about things in the garden like growing veg and fruit.
We are trying to get our green flag which is an award for eco friendly schools.

School Play

Yesterday we had a play called �what we did when the oil ran out.� It was about a family that had lots of bills to pay like Gas, water and electricity. Then they heard on the news that there was soon going to be no gas, electricity and no water. Then two children said that they were going to school but they were actually going to try and get some gas, some electricity and some water. But they did not mange to get any.
Then they went home, and told there mum were they went and what they had been doing.
At the end of the play one boy from the eco comity went up on the stage and told everyone want our school do to help the plant.
He said: at sandaig primary we pledge to help the environment by recycling plastic bottles, paper and plastic bags.

Eco school's silver award

On 20th May Sandaig primary got their silver award. So we have our bronze we got our silver all we need now is our green flag. And our Eco Action Day was a great success we cleaned the playground, car park and the community centre.

Eco otter Action Day

On Friday we had an assembly about Eco Otter Action Day. P6m children made up some litter games. Mrs Stewart talked to us about a green flag. Which is a Eco flag which will hang on a flag pole in the playground to show we are a Eco school. We have not got a green flag yet but Im sure we will get one before primary seven.
p7 were talking about how to recycle and told us to use both sides of the paper before you recycle. the p5 told us about how they made bird boxes and bug boxes.

Clean up day

On Friday we had an eco day. On Friday different people were to take pictures of what was going on around the school. Primary 5 were out at the garden digging. Every one got to plant a seed. Then they will be put in the garden. Primary 5 made bird houses and bug houses. Primary 6 and primary 7 were in the car park picking up litter. Once primary 6 had there turn at picking up the litter they went in to the class and made posters. When they finish them they will be put around the school.
