About

This is the weblog of Sandaig Primary School.
Sandaig is in Barlanark in the city of Glasgow, Scotland.
A small experiment in the use of a weblog in a primary school.
A weblog can be all sorts of things, this one is going to start as a diary and link list by staff and pupils of Sandaig Primary. We will find out what to put on it as we go along.

Sandaig Blogs

Sandaig Otters The main blog.

Books at Sandaig a blog of book reviews.

Sandaig - De Rank
A weblog for children in Sandaig and the De Rank School in Holland.

The Listeners Primary Six Poetry from February 2005

+ 2 - 3 | § Michael Kerins On Radio Sandaig

Sandaig's favourite storyteller Michael Kerins came in to tell a special story to primary seven.
Steven, Mark and David from primary seven ask Michael if he would come in and record a story for our podcast.
You can hear the recording at
Radio Sandaig
.
You can see some great photos taken by Primary Seven here: Michael Kerins On Radio Sandaig Pictures from the recording
You can find out more about Michael at weetom.com.
congratulations to Steven, Mark and David for having the idea, organising it with Michael and recording the podcast.

+ 5 - 1 | § Primary Six Glencoe Trip

glencoe blog

On Monday Primary Six will be off to Glencoe.
We hope to post our experiences to the Glencoe 06 Weblog.
This will depend on getting an internet connection. Our fingers are crossed.
If we do manage to post it would be great to get comments from parents and friends back home.

+ 0 - 4 | § Blogging

There have been lots of great new entries on the Sandaig Otters
weblog. Some of primary six have been commenting on other school blogs, I was particularly pleased by this post. Well done Amy.

+ 5 - 3 | § Radio Sandaig March Podcast Out Now

Another Great podcast by the Radio Sandaig team.
The children are really getting the hang of recording and editing audio. Their sense of humour shines through. Some old hands and new podcasters in this show.
Included in the show a new rap by David, School News and reports, Word of the Month, A great poem by Andrew in p 6, and another edition of Boys Vs Girls.
Look out for the Michael Kerins Special edition that will be out next week.

+ 1 - 3 | § Site Updates

Two new galleries of work for the children:
Electric Models from Primary 3
and Robots from Primary 4 S.
Primary 4 m started blogging and their first post gained a comment from Slovenia!
I've added a button like this:
World Map
To the Home page (at the bottom) and the Sandaig Otters blog. Clicking on them will lead to a map showing where the visitors to the site in the last 24 hours come from. We are getting visitors from every corner of the globe, which must be a sign of all the great work the children are producing.

+ 8 - 0 | § Primary Four Art Display

I've added some art work by primary four to the classes section of the site.
I am using a new way of showing a whole wall display, the picture can be scrolled by grabbing and dragging , and magnified with the slider on the left.

If you have any problems with the new page let me know in the comments here or by email.
