Yesterday we weaved on cardboard what you do is put thread around the cardboard and then go over under and keep doing it.
Then we got the tools out to make looms for a design for our weaving board.
The best looms were Abbie's and Megan's. Here are some pictures.

At first Mr. Johnston asked his entire maths group to make symmetry shapes out of multilinkers. People were making easy shapes at first but some people were making very hard shapes. But if you look at our symmetry shape it looks hard, but it was very easy to make. Our shape is a symmetrical alien robot.

The Eco school committee this week

Me someone from p6t and 3 other people went into the Sandaig garden to take photos and do some litter picking.
I and the other 4 people were so surprised at how much litter there was and how a half hours work could make so much change.

We hope we can get the garden better.

Last Friday we had a theatre group come to the school.
The theatre group put on a play: Steven's Expanding Stomach.
Steven always wanted to eat, and he was always hungry.
I liked the part were he was eating all of the junk food.
We had a song we had to and learn so we could sing with them.
Steven had a bad dream he was in his stomach and thats how we learnt about junk food.
I think the school found it very funny. We learnt if you eat too much junk food you could end up like Steven; with bad dreams and being very unhealthy.

On Monday the third of March p6’s and p5 had a cookery demonstration.
Fiona from scotch beef came in and Miss Bell from p3 helped. First she explained that too much oil, sugar, fat and salt is not good for your health.
Now down to the cooking part first she got a volunteer from p6 or p5. First volunteer it was Natasha from p5 who got some raw beef and a quarter of dice onions all mixed in with an one egg yolk which binds it which makes beef burgers.
Then Miss Bell fried them until they were cooked. Next Fiona made couscous first she added some boiling water. What surprised me was that a little couscous absorbed a lot of boiling water.
Then she added some salad after that we got to pick what we wanted I didn’t like the couscous but the burgers were nice.

A day of skipping

On Tuesday some of the school went into the community centre gym hall to do lots of skipping.
We where in the hall for an hour.
The special thing about it was that we all there together and we had enough time to
Do all the types of skipping.
We had cool music to skip to the beat to.
Most of the music was very fast but we caught up with the beat.
But we got the hang of it in the end.
We where to see if we could do some tricks whilst where skipping e.g.
To skip backwards, to do cross over’s and to hop when you where skipping.
At the end of it all we where all out of breath, we really had lots of fun.

On Thursday we went to the Kelvin Hall to do school sports day. We were in four groups Arran, Bute, Mull and Skye.
We did racing, skipping, jumping, ball throwing, hurdles and long jump.
It was so good that the race track goes up on a slope and goes back down. I was so close to beating Steven but I fell coming back down the slop.
Skye came first, Arran came second, Bute came third and Mull came fourth.

cookery demonstration
Today primary 5 and primary 6’s went to a demonstration about cookery.
There was only one lady. She told us some recipes about how to cook
Couse couse with vegetables through it and she showed us how
to make home made beef burgers.
Some people got to go up to the front of the room and they opened the beef and
Put the ingredients into the bowl then they mixed the beef and the other foods with their hands.
At the start of the lesson the teacher had a picture of a food circle with all the different groups of food.
Then we discussed the different meats that she had on a bowl in there packs.
