This is a pic of Stan and one of our otters.
We have enjoyed having flat Stanley here with us!!!
Flat Stanley has been dressed in traditional Scottish Kilt. So some boys and girls have been calling him
the Scottish Stanley!!!!

Stanley has been fixing his hair and clothes. He has been doing that because while our class has been doing hard work on our community centre some group’s have been having there picture taken with him.

He has also helped us with our writing and maths. Flat Stanley is really looking forward to coming back and sharing his stories. We really hope he has had a great time. We will miss him.

Yesterday P6S/J were at Whiteinch Library. We were learning about Religious Rules. We had to pick a Religious rule e.g Islam- 'Not one of you is a beliver until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself', and we had to write it in fancy writing. We had to do the first letter big and fancy. Long ago people wrote there first letter big and fancy so we did the same. We looked in books and had to find Religious symbols and draw them on our paper. Then we coloured them in. After we finished doing this we had to get a leaf ( a paper one ) and write a comment e.g What you learned , What was good about it. We had fun and learned a lot!

On Friday p6sj were doing art. It was hat art. We had to bring in a picture of a woman’s head without a hat or sunglasses. Then we started to decorate them. We used tissue paper, ribbon, feathers and little beads. We then had to cut on a shape, which was going to be our hat; we could make it old or new. Then we had to stick on our feather, ribbons or beads. Some of us have finished but most of us have not finished the hats but right now they are looking lovely now.

Primary Six SJ used Walter De La Mare's poem The Listeners as a model for writing poems of their own. They have been posting them to their own blogs: Primary Six SJ Blogs.

Have a read and let them know what you think in their comments.

They got us up singing and dancing it was great one of the songs we liked is I feel good and it was brilliant. Jed was brilliant at playing Guitar and Susan was brilliant at singing. She was brilliant at playing the violin. By Natasha

Miss Kelly takes p7t on a Thursday. To do art we did printouts and the first thing we did was to make a background. We got three colours white, yellow and blue. Then we drew on stars and blobs on the yellow and blue sheets of paper. Then stuck them on the white sheet of paper. We got a rectangle of polystyrene and had to draw a face on the polystyrene with a pen. Then we had to cut it out. We had to put ink on it with a roller. Then put it on our backgrounds. Then we had to roll over the back of the faces. Then pull the face off gently then left it to dry.

You can now see all of the P7T Face Prints

Today we did an experment how light travels.
We cut out four pieces of cardboard then we put holes through them. We got one straw and put it through the holes then we colored a square in black you put blue tack at the bottom of the squares. We got a torch and shone it through the holes in the squares and the light shone on the black one.
Light travels in a straight line.

After a long break the computers have started to work again.
Primary 6 SJ have started posting a bit to their blogs again.

Links: Archive |EntryK nex challenge

On the 21st of April we went to Caladonia Primary school to do a K nex challenge and came third. But we were two points away from winning. The winners won a box of k nex each but it was still fun.
We made a motor bike that you could push and clip bits off so it would fall into a car and it had brakes and a safety brake in case you didn’t put the brakes on right.
We had an hour to do it and we were in the school assembly and the head teacher thinks we should of won but we didn’t but were still happy at the fun we had. The other p6 did it as well but it was Garrowhill won.
