primary six drama

Yesterday Primary 6M took part in our first drama lesson. We started by sorting each other into pairs by playing 'Oranges and Lemons.' Then in pairs we introduced ourselves to each other. Then we introduced our partner to the whole class. Then we acted in pairs as kings or queens, bullies or victims, and people in conversation who were shy, sad, angry or in a rush.
Callum said, 'I liked the bullying bit, because of the way people acted.'
Chelsea said, 'I liked the shy bit because it was funny'
Craig liked the angry bit, because when Chelsey told Lewis to tidy his room Lewis stamped his foot in a tantrum.

Today we learned about lots of the rivers in scotland. We got plain maps and had name all the rivers. It was quite hard because the rivers were only black lines. We learned about all these rivers the Tay, the Tweed, the Don and lots more.
The rivers in scotland are used for electricity, tourism, fishing and leisure.

pictures of Aunts

Just now primary seven are doing a book study. We are reading James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. The book is very funny so far. These pictures are of James' Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. The Aunts are being nasty and cruel to James. James lives with his Aunts on top of the hill. James is like a bird in a cage (say's our James).

We are enjoying the book so much we do not want to stop reading it. If you have read this book leave us a comment (don't tell us what is going to happen).

We put the balloon against the wall and it fell of .
We got a balloon and rubbed it against our poloshirt and put it to the wall and it stuck.
It stuck because of static electricity on the rubbed balloon had extra electrons which attract the wall.

Primary six started a new topic about Fairground Electricity.Today we had to do a task and then write about it.
Here is an example of what we did.
What We Did
We put a ruler over a small piece of tissue paper, but mothing happend then we rubbed the ruler against our jumper. Then put it over the tissue paper and it stuck to the ruler.

What We Think
We thought it was weird that tissue paper sticks to a ruler.

Primary 6 have been reading a novel Diary of a Killer Cat by Anne Fine for our language work. We have only read chapter 1. Today we did a punctuation worksheet about it.
The story starts about a cat called Tuffy that killed a bird and he brought it into the house. His owner Ellie was crying so hard she almost drowns him and squeezed him so hard she nearly choked him. That is all we've heard so far.
We are really looking foward to read the rest of Diary of a killer cat.

This afternoon primary six have started a new topic called Scotland. We learned that Scotland can be looked at in three different parts the Highlands, Cental Lowlands and Southern Uplands.
We looked at Google maps and real maps. Then we did a sheet about the Scotland map.

.

This morning we had to think of rules to help people to learn. First we had to get into pairs and get whiteboards and pens. Then we jotted down some ideas for some rules to put up on the wall. Courtney took a photo of the rules on the blackboard. We are still working on them. When they are finished we will blog them.
