For the past five weeks primary 6 have been doing music with a professional musician Mr Douglas. He brings in musical instruments for us to play. He writes poems on the blackboard and sometimes we have to march around the gym singing them. One of them is:

Coca cola went to town

Pepsi cola shot him down

Dr.pepper fixed him up

Turned him in to seven up.

We have notes these are MI, DO, LA and we have hand actions for them.

Mr.Douglas is a bit LOUD! Because the gym hall echo’s a lot. We get put into 3 groups to play these instruments: CLAVES, TRIANGLE, COW BELL, and the maracas but some times we call them shakeitas. This is better than normal music in school. Mr. Douglas comes every Monday from 11 o’clock to 12:15 when we go out to lunch. We are very looking forward to next Monday because he lets us make up parts of the poems.

We have done much more but these are the most exciting parts of our lessons.

There was 5 Dutch teachers came to our class yesterday. They were from De Rank that is a school in Holland. We have been E-mailing them so they just came to visit us. They brought us presents they brought us a top that had De Rank written on the back, they also brought us lots of sweets and 2 books one was a children’s phrase book the other was a book that you could see pictures of North Holland.

Yesterday we also had a shot of video conferencing. We were talking to Bannerman the people we were talking to were Kirsty-lee, Jacqueline, Heather, Ashley and Samantha. Every time they saw a teacher on the camera they shouted HI! Or YEAH! They were asking for Mrs Henry, Miss Macarthur told them that she was away learning French. Mrs Burke came in and Kirsty-lee shouted that Miss Burke was the best then the adults started laughing. The teacher the first years were with was Mr Forest he is the head teacher of Bannerman. When Miss Macarthur was talking to him she called him Ian by mistake. When she was talking to the girls she told them to spit their chewing gum out Samantha didn’t have any Miss Macarthur said well done to her. It was good anyway.

There are three parts of Scotland they are the Highlands, Central Lowlands, and the Southern Uplands.

We hope to be learning about the famous rivers in Scotland and more about Ben Nevis.

We have already learned where some of the lochs are Loch Lomond, Loch Ness, Loch Maree and Loch Awe.

Once we know more about Scotland we will post it here.

Today the drama club have performed a play called Station Omega.

Station Omega is a SCI-FI play about an unknown creature detected in sector five.

We have lots of cool costumes like an alien and a robot and lots of songs to go with the play.

The main character was captain K.

We did it twice once for the children and once for the parents.

It went very well the children and parents laughed at the jokes.

On Wednesday 31st of march we saw a play about Tam O’ Shanter. We heard the poem throughout the story.

When Tam was going home from the pub there was thunder noises and Tam had a plastic horse called Meg. He took some whisky and then went over to the haunted Kirk. Auld Nick was playing the guitar and the witches were dancing to it. Tam saw a nice looking witch, auld Nick quiet fancied the witch too.

We all enjoyed the play which was funny, scary and exciting. Our class could remember the poem and we joined in.

On Tuesday 30th of March all the children took a hard boiled egg and designed it. There were some very interesting ones and others were funny. In primary 7 someone decorated there eggs as the Osborne’s. After we decorated the eggs we went down to the front of the school and put our eggs on the table so people could take a look. On Friday the 2nd of April the winners will be announced and win an Easter egg.
