De Eftling was GREAT it’s a HUGE Theme Park.
De Eftling is a HUGE Theme Park.
The rides are AMAZING to go on my favourite ride was the Flying Dutch Man it’s a ride where you go in this boat type cart in water in the dark.
The other rides were also GREAT!!!
There were quite a few side stands too.
But they cost like 10 and 5 Euros.
Euros are the money P6 and P7 used when we were at Holland.
There was ride called The Python it was MASSIVE unfortunately it was closed because of technical difficulties but get this it opened when we were just leaving sadly.
And I think The Python was the main attraction anyways we also went on other rides like: The Fairy Ride, The Water Ride (only some of us the rest went on another ride) and the other ride was like a big slid (A VERY BIG SLID)
About the slid you sit in a fake log cart.
We also went to a 4D thing called the Panda Droom the affects where awesome it was about saving the animals and there habitats.
AND WELL THAT’S ABOUT IT BYEEEE

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your comments. I’ve been reading them out to the children as we travel around on the bus and they’ve loved hearing what you have to say.
It’s our final day before we head for the ferry and we’re going to spend it at De Eftelling Theme Park which is usually one of the favourite items on our trip. As I type this the children are in the rooms around me making noises with doors, showers etc as they get ready to head down to breakfast. The weather outside is perfect and we’ll be slapping on the sun tan lotion.
I’d like to thank all the children that managed to blog on this trip and to say that plenty more volunteered. I’d also like to say that I wish I could have put more photos on and that I’m sorry if you didn’t see many of your own children. I’ll be putting up a gallery of some of the 350 photos I’ve taken when we get back.

We went to Maduradam and when we saw how life-like everything was, some of us were shocked. Everything was in miniature. I was disappointed because Ajax Arena wasn’t there but I enjoyed the model of Schiphol Airport and all the aeroplanes.

I also liked the soldiers driving round and I enjoyed seeing the model of Anne Frank’s House because I was there the day before.
Afterwards we played in the play park.

Today we visited Volendam which is a seaside town. First we all walked round to the dyke and Miss McArthur told us what the dykes were for. Next, Mrs Burke told us a story about a boy called Peter who saved his village by putting his finger in a hole in the dyke.

After that, Miss McArthur let us try smoked herring. One person liked it but everybody else thought it tasted like sea water. Then we tried eel. I tried it and I thought it was alright.

After all the fish eating we went shopping for gifts and I got all the gifts I wanted to get.

When we went outside after the bowling a group of us got together into a circle and played a hand rhyme called Marianne. It started as a small group but got bigger and bigger because it was fun!

Yesterday we went ten pin bowling and we had to split up into six groups. I was in Declan, Holly, Shakira, Jack and Michael’s group.
First we had to pick out a shoe size and I was a european size 36 or a UK size 3. Then once we all got our shoe size we went to the bowling lanes. Michael went first then it was Holly then it’s Jack then Declan etc. Then after a few spares we went and got some drinks and before we new it, it was over. Then we went back to the hotel and had dinner.
I had loads of fun and I think everybody would agree with me.

Yesterday we went to De Rank school. We got chips and hot dogs for lunch and after lunch we gave the dutch people their Scotland gift. Then we went to play for 20 minutes or something like that.
Then we went back on the bus and the dutch people cycled behind us and we went to a windmill. We split into groups so one group went in the windmill and the other went fishing. We all had lots of good fun and caught loads of tiny fish.
After that we had something to eat and then we went on the bus and waved bye to the Dutch people. We gave each other email addresses so we can keep in touch.
We went to the hotel and had dinner and after dinner we went up to the rooms and got changed for bowling. All of us were so hyper because we had such a good time!

This morning for breakfast I had some corn flakes and milk although I wasn’t too fond of the milk as it was very sour . Then I had some toast with some ham & cheese which was delicious & I also had some juice . We then made our own lunch with some bread ham & cheese with a selection of crisps, apple and some tropical juice which I think I enjoyed more than breakfast!

I put ham on my sandwich but other people put on chocolate sprinkles and jam. We had to wait for our turn for our sandwiches although we went to Volendam and we ate it there and the ducks came up from the water and the birds came down!

We went to Amsterdam to see Anne Frank’s house. After our visit we went for a walk around Amsterdam and we found out about why the houses have big hooks above the window. It was used to pull heavy furniture because the stairs are really steep and too hard to carry up the stairs.
There are a lot of canals and there was evan a taxi boat and boats are converted into houses. Amsterdam is really beautiful. There are horses pulling carriages and tourists go on them and get a tour.

Today, the 1st of June we went to visit Anne Franks hiding place. It was so fun but at the same time it was also very heart warming and sad because o. what happened to this poor family.
We had to go up so many stairs but it was worth the time. They hid just in case the Germans found her and her family. Some people had to read out some bits of Anne’s diary and one bit of the museum says “To know the future you have to know the past”. Anne’s dad Otto said that.
I got such a fright when we were watching a video that showed you holocaust pictures of dead bodies that had been gassed and then Abby jumped up behind me and scared me but at the same time seeing those bodies really gave me the shivers.
Anne Frank will be remembered always!
