On Friday p.5 had there harvest assembly. They had made a poster with harvest in big bright letters. They collected a lot of food to donate to less fortunate than us. They told us a story about the Scottish farmer and the African farmer they told us how the African farmers find it harder than the Scottish farmers to grow crops. So we learnt a lot from the harvest assembly.

This term p7j topic has been ww2.
We have been work on making families, houses and lots more our families are living in Clydebank.
The families are as shipyard workers, bakers and owning companies.
They are living in flats with no toilet because it is round the back and there is only one room one kitchen and one bed
In the year of 1939 the families were very big, so when there was a war they all had to split up from each other.
Then there was the bombing by Germany and the leader was Hitler.

Thanks
Kami and Andrew

Today we decided that it was time to pick the apples in our garden.
Even though it was pouring two brave pupils ventured out to pick the apples accompanied by an equally brave photographer.
They returned to the classroom and primary 7 tasted the fruit. They were bitter and sweet at the same time.

Yesterday Michael our Storyteller came into school to get his suitcase.
It was not an ordanary suitcase...
Last year Michael cam in and told us a story about weetom getting healthy. Miss McArthur asked him to tell the story for Health Week. Michael made up the story as he went along.
Primary 6 (us last session) took the story and made sculptures, weetom size pictures and audio recordings to go with the story.
We wrote the story so that Michael could tell it again. Michael is going to tell the story in Russia and he is taking our weetom Travelling art show extravaganza with him.
Today we finished off the audio which will go on Radio Sandaig soon and we will put pictures of our art work onto the Sandaig Website.

On our second week of the new session we went on a trip to Ayr, a great time was had by all despite the weather. Primary Seven J have been learning how to edit video by combining video clips with still photos. The children used music that Sandaig pupils had created in garageband as sound tracks.
Visit the A trip to Ayr page to see more videos ( a few more will be added next week.)

Today we had a theatre group in. It was about Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. It started when they were both little boys and they had wooden swords. They started to carry on. Then there fathers came and broke it up. But Roberts dad took it seriously and then Robert told his dad its okay it was only a carry on so they departed on good terms. Then the next day they came back and Robert and William were playing together again. Then the King of England came and chose a man that wouldn’t stand up to him for the next king of Scotland because he knew Robert wouldn’t stand up to him. Then William and Robert were at war with the king. William got killed just like his father. Then Robert went on to defend Scotland and won the title and thought about William and his dad along the way.

On Wednesday afternoon p7j were learning about solids in science.
They could be…hard, soft, transparent, flexible, magnetic, absorbent and conducts electricity.

Our first object was a sponge it was soft, flexible and absorbent.
Then it was Lego it was only hard.
After that it was cotton wool it was soft, flexible and absorbent.
Then it was a weight it was hard, magnetic and conducts electricity.
Then a cloth it was soft, transparent, flexible and absorbent.
Wood was just hard.
Then it was glass it was hard and transparent.
Then a Protractor it was hard, transparent and flexible.

Then we learned a solid has a fixed shape and a fixed volume.
